Business Casual Guidelines

  • The interpretation of business casual varies widely, so always check the employer’s dress code
  • Business casual is usually the middle ground between business formal and street wear
  • Regardless of how casual “business casual” is at your company, clothing should always be neat and clean
  • Clothing should provide enough coverage to cover midriff, thighs, cleavage, and lower back

  • T-shirts
  • Caps
  • Flip-flops
  • Sweats
  • Clothing with logos (however, some companies allow or even encourage items with their corporate logo)
  • Jeans (depending on the company’s policy)
  • Revealing clothing
  • Clothing that does not fit well
  • Clothing that is torn, wrinkled, or dirty
